About HTF

Grand Master Jack Pierce began his martial arts in January 1970. He started in Tangsoodo at Osan Airbase, Korea, under Master Chun Sik Kim. Grand Master Pierce began training in Taekwondo at C.C.K. Airbase, Taiwan, with Master Clint Robinson in January 1973. Since then, Grand Master Pierce’s instructors have been direct descendants of General Choi, Hong Hi, the founder of Taekwondo.

The Hwa–Rang Taekwondo Federation was founded by Grand Master Pierce in December 1999. The HTF adopted the original forms created by General Choi. Grand Master Pierce had the opportunity to train with General Choi before he passed away. Training with him gave Grand Master Pierce the opportunity to analyze the foundation of the forms and to insure quality and consistency.

The HTF was founded for a number of reasons. First and foremost, was to create an organization that is focused on the development of each individual member and to provide the most professional instruction possible. As an organization, we provide instruction and certification in many areas including Taekwondo instruction, rank testing, tournament competition, and school operations.

Our motto is "Traditional Taekwondo at Its Best“. Our priority is the future growth of our students and instructors. Our mission is to provide the most professional and safe environment possible and to help each member improve physically and mentally.
